My dad raves about Google Chrome a lot. And maybe it’s awesome, but being a Mac user, I haven’t worked with it much.
However, I just typed “quicktime trailer dicrct 9″ (sic) into my Firefox address bar and was taken to the correct page. So, despite it’s ridiculously long load time and memory hog usage, there are still times when I’m reminded why I fell in love with this crazy browser in the first place.
Also I saw District 9 the other day and will write more about it soon.
A new NBC/WSJ poll finds that:
Also, while just 36 percent believe Obama’s efforts to reform the health system are a good idea, that number increases to 53 percent when respondents were read a paragraph describing Obama’s plans.
The approval rating went up seventeen fucking points when the respondents were reminded (or told for the first time) what is actually happening with health-care reform. And what, pray tell, did the respondents so object to in the bills they presumed were under consideration?
Majorities in the poll believe the plans would give health insurance coverage to illegal immigrants; would lead to a government takeover of the health system; and would use taxpayer dollars to pay for women to have abortions — all claims that nonpartisan fact-checkers say are untrue about the legislation that has emerged so far from Congress. Forty-five percent think the reform proposals would allow the government to make decisions about when to stop providing medical care for the elderly.
I think Republicans will stop lying to people outright when it stops working so goddamn well.
